COMMUNICATION DEVICES for SMS gateway

 SMS gateway communication device is a device that can be used to send or receive SMS. The devices are in the form of:

a.      Mobile phone

To connect it with computer, mobile phone has to have connectivity support to another device, such as data cable, Bluetooth, or infrared.

b.      GSM modem

GSM modem is a wireless modem that works with GSM. If modem could use telephone cable to transfer the data, so GSM modem uses radio frequency as the media. GSM modem that can be used is PC card/PCMCIA card or external device that uses cable series or USB to connect it to computer.

As the name, GSM modem needs GSM SIM card to operate it.

c.       GPRS modem

The basic differences between GSM modem and GPRS modem is GPRS supporting technology addition in the data transmission. The fastness of SMS process in GPRS modem is faster than GSM modem.
