Media connection is used to send data from one communication device to computer and vive versa. The media are:

Data cable

There are a lot of data cable that is used to connect a mobile phone to computer, it depends on the brand and the type of the mobile phone. The following is some kind of data cable that found in market:

>DAU9 (P)

This is the oldest cable. This cable support Nokia 6210 series or 7110 series and FBUS protocol

>DLR3 (P)

The shape is identical with DAU9 (P) and had support AT mode. Mobile phones that use this cable are Nokia 6310, 6310i, and 7110 series.

> DKU5

There is chip in this cable that have function to emulate (emulator) serial port through USB connector. This cable is used in Nokia 2285, 3100, 3120, 3200, 3205, 3220, 3570, 3585, 3585i, 3586i, 3587i, 3588i, 3589i, 5100, 5140, 6015i, 6016i, 6019i, 6100, 6200, 6225, 6560, 6585, 6610, 6800, 6820, 7210, and 7250i series.

> DKU2

This cable is identical with DKU5 but does not have chip. This cable is used in Nokia 9500, 9300, 7710, 7700, 7610, 7600, 7270, 6682, 6670, 6651, 6650, 6620, 6255i, 6230, 6170, and 3300 series.

>CA-42

CA-42 is new cable that replacing DKU5

>R-DATA

There are some kind cables like this. R-data-3310 is used in Nokia 3330, 3390, 3395, 3410, and 5550 series. And R-data-3510 is used for nokia 3595, 3590, 3580, 3510 series.

Bluetooth

Bluetooth is a standard specification that defines the way how between devices (telephone, computer, PDA, or other digital devices) can be connected and communicated without cable (wireless). Media that is used in data transmission is radio frequency 2.4 GHz. The maximum range that possible to communicate between devices is 100meters. In order that a computer could communicate with other devices that have Bluetooth, it needs a Bluetooth adapter.  

IrDA

IrDA (Infrared Data Association) is a non profit organization that is made to make a standard of data transmission without cable with infrared as the media. Next, the IrDa term refers to the technology itself. Generally, the maximum range between IrDA devices in order that it can be communicated is 1 meters without any obstacles.
